There are currently around 75,000 registered Gas Engineers holding existing competence in CEN1 (Central Heating Boilers) and HTR1 (Fires) but without a current assessed competence in the use of an electronic flue gas analyser (CPA1). This could beconsidered as presenting a huge risk to consumers and so the new Strategic Management Board (SMB) has announced that all Gas Engineers holding or completing their CEN1 and HTR1 elements must first complete their CPA1 as a compulsory pre-requisite with effect from February 2010. and ALL engineers undertaking such work must be qualified by April 1st 2012
The CPA1 Gas Safety Assessment is designed for Gas Engineers who use combustion analysis as part of the installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of a gas appliance as listed in BS 7967 Part 3 2005 Guide for responding to measurements obtained from flue gas analysers.
Bgas now provide a number of "Green" courses at competative prices.
