This course is intended to give a good understanding of domestic electrical installation and testing procedures. It will provide tutorial, practical workshop and on site experience culminating in you sitting the the following nationally recognised qualifications;- Part P (Level A) and Inspection & Testing These qualifications will allow you to apply for registration with a competent person’s scheme, and set you on your way to a career in an expanding trade. As well as in centre training, you will undertake 4 weeks of on site work rewiring domestic properties. Domestic Installation Theory · Circuit planning and necessary calculations · Earthing and bonding circuit protection · Installation methods · Part P of Building Regulations
Domestic Installation Practice · Putting the above theory into practice i.e. · Selecting Protection methods · Installation of ;- Consumer units Radial Circuits Ring Circuits Lighting Circuits These will be done initially on boards, then in bays and finally out on site.
Electrical Testing · What tests are required · Safe use of test equipment · Recording test results on appropriate forms · Testing will be done in workshop bays and then out on site.
